Wins for Klaebo and Nilsson at FIS Cross-Country World Cup, Otepää
World Cup individual sprints in free technique were held today at Otepää. The fastest men on the 1,6 km course were Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo from Norway (3:06.53), Finn Haagen Krogh also from Norway (+0.60) and Sergey Ustiugov from Russia (+1.00). Among ladies the quickest on the 1,3 km course were Stina Nilsson from Sweden (2:49.96), Maiken Caspersen Falla from Norway (+0.27) and Heidi Weng also from Norway (+3.75).
Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo seemed unstoppable on the course and won confidently. „I liked the course very much. It was a cool track and I felt really strong today. It was very good to be on the top of podium today,“ comments Klaebo. „If I would go to final I would be really happy,“ he sets his expectations for Lahti.
The fastest woman Stina Nilsson said it was a hard fought victory today. „There were difficult snow conditions on the track and it was hard to beat Falla,“ she comments the race. Nilsson says that her good technical skills were the best tactic for the race. „The course was very good and I would like to come back and race here again. I could not have done it any better, so I’m very happy,“ says the winner.
Tomorrow ladies take on 10 km and men 15 km races in classical technique.
